How to Clear Your Search History

Want to clear your search history? Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do it in Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge.

Open the Google app.

On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google app .
At the bottom right, tap More Settings.
Under “History,” tap History. To the right of a search:
– To delete a single search entry, touch and hold the entry, then select Remove.
– To delete all your search history, at the top right, tap More Delete activity by. Under “DELETE BY,” tap All time. Tap Delete.

Tap More.

On your device (not on the web), open the Chrome app .
At the top right, tap More and then History. If your address bar is at the bottom, swipe up on the address bar.
Tap Clear browsing data.
At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.
Next to “Cookies and site data” and “Cached images and files,” check the boxes.
Tap Clear data.

Tap History.

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, open the Safari app.

Tap , then tap Clear History and Website Data.

Tap Clear History and Data, then tap Clear History and Data.

Tap Clear search history.

You can delete single search history results from the autocomplete list on the Google search page. If you need to clear out a lot or all of your search history, you can use the Google My Activity page.

Here’s how to remove certain searches from your history:

On your computer, open your browser and go to
Start a search.
Click Search .
Hover over the search you want to remove from your history. On the right, tap More .
Tap Remove .

You can also delete all activity that’s saved in My Activity:
-Go to and sign in with your account. On the left, click Delete activity by. Under “Delete by date,” select All time. Check the boxes next to the activities you want to delete, then click Delete .

At the bottom, tap Delete.

You can delete all or part of your search history.

On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app .
At the top right, tap More Delete.
Choose how much history you want to delete.
Tap Delete.

Tap Delete.

To clear your search history on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, tap Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data.

To clear other stored information from Safari, such as cookies and cached files, tap Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data, then tap Remove All Website Data.

If you’re using iCloud Tabs, your browsing history is stored in iCloud and clearing your history deletes all of this information from iCloud and any devices signed in to it.
