Android and iOS devices regularly share your location with apps, services, and cell towers. Your location history is stored in a database on the device, which anyone with access to the device can view. In this article, we’ll show you how to check your location history on both Android and iOS devices.
What is location history?
Location history is a feature in certain web browsers and applications that records where you have been. This information is used to provide you with personalized content, such as ads and search results. In some cases, location history may also be used to improve the performance of the product.
Most browsers and applications that use location history will allow you to view your history and delete it if you wish. Here are instructions for how to do this in some of the most popular browsers and apps:
1. Open Chrome on your computer.
2. Click the three dots in the top-right corner of the window, then click “History.”
3. On the left-hand side of the page, click “History.”
4. Under “History Type,” click “Location.”
5. To view your location history, click “All History” under “History Type.” To delete your location history, click “Clear all Location History” at the top of the page.

How to check your location history
Checking your location history can be a great way to see where you have been and track your travels. You can also use it to see if anyone has been following you or if your device has been stolen. Here are some instructions on how to check your location history.
On your computer
Your location history lets you view and delete place markers that Android and Google Maps automatically stores on your phone. You can turn off your location history at any time.
When you turn off your location history, the places you go are no longer stored.
On your computer, open Google Maps.
In the top left, click Menu Your timeline .
On the right, click More Settings and privacy.
Click Location History and then select Turn off Location History.
On your mobile device
If you’re using a mobile device, you can check your location history by opening the Google Maps app and tapping the “Menu” button in the top-left corner.
From there, tap “Your Timeline” and then select the day you want to view. You can also choose to view your location history for a specific range of dates by tapping the “Calendar” icon in the top-right corner.
On the next screen, you’ll see a map with all of the places you visited that day (or within the date range you selected). To see more details about any specific location, just tap on it.
You can also use the Google Maps app to delete specific entries from your location history or turn off location tracking altogether. To do either of those things, just tap on the “Menu” button again and then select “Settings.”
From there, scroll down and tap on “Location History is ON.”
On the next screen, you can tap on “Manage Location History” to delete specific entries from your location history or turn off location tracking altogether by tapping on “Delete all Location History.”
How to delete your location history
If you’re concerned about your privacy, you may want to delete your location history. This is a record of everywhere you’ve been, and it’s stored on your devices and in your Google account. You can delete all or part of your location history, and you can turn off location services altogether. Here’s how to do both.
On your computer
Open Google Maps. In the top left, click Menu Your timeline . On the map, click or tap a place marker. Below the place name, click More Delete from my photos, Delete from my photos and videos or I don’t like this place. To delete all entries in your location history, open Google Maps and follow the steps above. At the top of the page, select More Delete all Location History or Delete Location History range.
On your mobile device
If you have a mobile device, you can use the Google Maps app to view your location history. To do this, open the app and sign in with your Google account. Then, tap the three lines in the top left corner of the screen and tap “Your timeline.”
On this page, you can view a map of all the places you’ve been recently. If you want to delete your location history, tap the three dots in the top right corner of the page and select “Delete all Location History.”
