How to Clear Your Browsing History on iPhone

Learn how to clear your browsing history on your iPhone in Safari or Google Chrome.

Open Safari.

At the bottom of your screen, tap More > History.
Tap Clear, then tap Clear History and Website Data.
To clear your cookies and keep your history, go to Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data, then tap Remove All Website Data.
To visit sites without leaving a history, turn private browsing on or off. When you’re in Private Browsing, you won’t have a browsing history or AutoFill information saved to your device.

Tap the bookmarks icon.

Tap the bookmarks icon. This looks like an open book and is located in the bottom navigation bar. Doing so opens your iPhone’s bookmarks.

Tap History. It’s in the middle of the screen, just below the “Favorites” heading. Doing so opens a list of your recently visited websites.

Tap Clear. It’s at the bottom of the screen. Doing so immediately deletes your browsing history from Safari on your iPhone.

Tap History.

You can clear your entire browsing history, or you can choose to keep certain items in your browsing history.

To clear your entire browsing history:

1.Tap the History button .
2.Tap Clear.
3.Tap Clear History and Website Data.
4.Confirm by tapping Clear History and Data.

To keep certain items in your browsing history:

1.Tap the History button .
2.Scroll down and tap the item you want to keep in your browsing history, then tap Keep This Item in My History.

Tap Clear.

When you clear your browsing history, Safari removes data it saves as a result of your browsing, including:
-History of webpages you visited
-The time and date of your visits
-Browsing History
-Searches you did in the Safari search bar
-Tapping Clear will remove all this data from Safari. If you’re signed in with your Apple ID, and have iCloud Tabs turned on, Safari also clears any tabs you have open in iCloud.

Tap Clear History and Website Data.

When you clear your history, Safari removes the cookies and data associated with the websites you visit. To clear your history and cookies, go to Settings > Safari, and tap Clear History and Website Data. Clearing your history, cookies, and browsing data from Safari won’t change your AutoFill information.

To clear your cookies and keep your history, go to Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data, then tap Remove All Website Data. Doing so could log you out of some sites, or delete data like site preferences or saved items.
