How to Clear Your Google Search History

Looking to clear your Google search history? Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do just that.

Open your Google account.

To delete your entire search history, follow these steps:

1. On your computer, open your Web browser and go to www.google.com.
2. In the top right corner of the page, click your profile picture or initial. If you don’t see this option, click Sign in.
3. At the bottom of the menu that appears, click Sign out.
4. Close all opened tabs in your browser.
5. Open your browser again and go to www.google.com/history.
6. At the top right of the page, click More Delete activity by. Below “Delete by date,” select All time from the drop-down menu next to it and then click Delete .

A drop-down menu will appear. On the top of the menu, click on “Account.”

Under the “Personal info & privacy” section, click on “Control your content.”

Click on “Clear search history.” You will be redirected to a new page.

At the top of the page, under “Invidivual activity controls,” click on “Web & App Activity.” Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on “Pause.” A pop-up will appear, asking if you’re sure you want to pause. Click on “Pause.”

Next to “Account,” a pop-up window will appear. In the middle of the pop-up, there will be a section called “Personal info & privacy.” Click on the blue “Edit” button next to this section.
You will be brought to a page with several options; under “Things you create and do,” find and click “Edit next to “Web & App Activity.”
You will be brought to a new page; at the top, there should be a toggle that says “Web & App Activity is on.” Toggle this off so that it says “Web & App Activity is off.”
A small pop-up will appear; read it over and click “Pause.”

Your Google search history should now be cleared!

On the left side of the page, click on “Data & personalization.”

At the top of the page, in the center, you’ll see a section called “Activity controls.” In that section, find “Web & App Activity” and click on “Manage Activity.” On the next page, at the top right, click on “More.”
From there, at the top right, click on “Delete activity by.” On the next page, choose how far back you want to delete your history. Select a time frame from the drop-down menu. To delete your entire history, select “All time.” Then, at the bottom of the page, click on “Delete.”

Under “Activity controls,” click on “Web & App Activity.”

Now, scroll down to “Web & App Activity.” This is where all of your recent searches live. To see a more comprehensive list, click “More.”

If you want to delete all of your searches, click the three dots next to “Search history” and then click “Delete activity by.”

A pop-up will appear. At the top, select how far back you want to delete your history. To delete your entire history, select “All time.” Then, click “Delete.”

From the dropdown menu that appears, select “History.” On the left side of the page, under “History Type,” select “Clear all history.” A pop-up window will appear; at the top, choose how far back in time you want to delete your history. Then, click on the boxes next to “Browsing history,” “Download history,” “Cookies and other site data,” and “Cached images and files.” Finally, click on the blue “Clear data” button at the bottom of the page.

This will take you to a page where you can select the time period for which you want to delete your activity. Select “All time” from the options provided.
Check the boxes next to the types of activity that you want to delete. You can select all options or just some of them.
When you’re finished making your selections, click the “Delete” button at the top of the page.

Under “Delete by date,” click on “All time.”

To delete all items in your history:

On your computer, open Chrome. At the top right, click More . Click History. On the left, click Clear browsing data. A box will appear. From the drop-down menu, select how much history you want to delete. Check the boxes for the info you want Chrome to clear, including “browsing history.” Learn more about the types of browsing data you can delete; Click Clear data.

Todelete a specific item or range of items:

On your computer, open Chrome. At the top right, click More . Click History. On the left panel, click Todays’s history or History from ther drop-down menu to expand it further.. Find and click on the web page you want to remove from your history Under “Visited,” click Remove. To remove everything on a certain day or time period

A pop-up will appear. Click on “DELETE.”

When you’re signed in to your Google Account and turn on Web & App Activity, your searches and activity from other Google services are saved in your Activity Log. You can control what’s saved in your activity log, and you can delete part or all of your activity. If you delete items from your activity log, they’re gone for good—you can’t restored deleted activity.

To view and delete search history:
1) Go to myactivity.google.com. You may be asked to sign in to your Google Account.
2) On the left, click Data & personalization .
3) Under “Activity controls,” click Web & App Activity or YouTube History Manage Activity . If you don’t see these options, you’re using a browser that doesn’t support all of My Activity’s features. Learn how to use the features of My Activity in a supported browser.
4) At the top right of the page, choose More Delete activity by. Below “Delete by date,” select the Down arrow All time.”
5) Click DELETE .
