How to Clear Your Search History on Your Phone

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to clear your search history on your phone

On iPhone

If you’re using an iPhone, you can clear your search history in the Safari app. Tap the Safari app icon, which resembles a blue compass, on the Home screen. Tap the search bar. This is the bar at the top of the screen that has a magnifying glass icon on the left side. Doing so opens your iPhone’s search history.

Go to Settings

Go to Settings > Safari.

Scroll to the bottom and tap Clear History and Website Data.

Confirm by tapping Clear History and Data.

1.Open Settings, and scroll down to the fifth group of options (with Applications as the first).
2.Scroll down and select Safari.
3.Scroll down to the bottom and select Clear History and Website Data.
4.In the pop-up box that appears, select Clear History and Data to confirm your decision.

On your iPhone, open Safari.

At the bottom of the screen, tap More.

Scroll to the bottom and tap Clear History and Website Data. If you’re using iOS 11 or earlier, tap Clear History and Website Data.

On Android

To clear your search history on an Android device, open the Google app and tap on the three lines in the top left corner. Scroll down and tap “Settings.” Then, tap “Accounts & Privacy.” Next to “Web & App Activity,” tap the toggle to turn it off.

Open the Chrome app

Open the Chrome app .
At the top right, tap More .
Tap History. historia.
On the “History” screen, tap Clear browsing data.
At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.
Next to “Cookies and site data” and “Cached images and files,” check the boxes.
Tap Clear data.

On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app .
At the top right, tap More .
Tap History.
On the “History” screen, tap Clear browsing data.
At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.
Next to “Cookies and site data” and “Cached images and files,” check the boxes.
Tap Clear data.

On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app .
At the top right, tap More and then History.
If your address bar is at the bottom, swipe up on the address bar. Tap History .
If you’re signed in to Chrome, you’ll see your history from all devices that you’ve signed into. To check another account, tap Right arrow and then choose another account. To close an account, tap Remove .
Tap Clear browsing data.
Choose a time range, like Last hour or All time.
Select the types of information you want to remove from your history by tapping them. To clear everything, tap All time Ticking the box for ”Browsing history” will automatically select ”Download history” and ”Cookies and site data” as well —ensuring everything related to your browsing history is cleared. Tap Clear data.

When you use Google apps on your Android phone, some data is stored in your Google Account on the web, including:
-When you do a search on your phone, that search is stored in your Google Account.
-Your voice searches and other voice input, like when you dictate text messages, are stored in your Google Account.
-Web pages that you’ve visited are stored in your Google Account.
-App activity like when you searched for something in the Play Store.
You can see and delete this activity from My Activity, and you can stop it from being saved to your account if you turn off Web & App Activity.

Select a time range

On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app .
At the top right, tap More More and then History.
If your address bar is at the bottom, swipe up on the address bar.
Tap “History.”
If you’re signed in to Chrome and syncing your history, you’ll see the history from all your synced devices. To see only one device’s history at a time, open Chrome on that device.
At the top of your history, tap More More and then Delete. Or, next to certain items, tap More Delete.
Check the boxes next to “Browsing history” or “Download history,” tap Delete, and then Clear Browsing Data.
