First, you can turn off sensors that collect data, like your microphone and camera. To do this, go to your Google Account page and click “Personal info & privacy.” Then, under “Control your content,” click “Manage activity controls.” From there, you can toggle which sensors are active.
Next, you can set how long Google keeps your data. To do this, go to your Google Account page and click “Personal info & privacy” again. Then click “Manage your activity controls.” Under “Keep for how long?” select the amount of time you want Google to keep your data before it’s automatically deleted. You can choose to keep it for 3 months, 18 months, or until you delete it manually.
Finally, you can prevent Google from collecting certain types of data entirely. To do this, go to your Google Account page and click “Personal info & privacy” once more. Then under “Report & delete activity,” click “Choose which products to include in reports.” From there, you can deselect the types of data you don’t want included in reports. This will prevent that type of data from being collected going forward.
