How to Delete Your Google Search History on Your Phone

Deleting your search history

You may want to delete your Google search history for privacy reasons. Here’s how to do it on your Android phone.

Open the Google app on your phone

Open the Google app on your iPhone or Android phone, and sign in if you’re not already.

Tap the three vertically-aligned dots in the top-right corner of the screen.

Select “Settings” from the drop-down menu.

Scroll down and tap “Google activity controls.” This is where you can delete your entire search history or certain items from it.

Tap “Web & App Activity.” This will open a page showing your entire search history. You can also get here by visiting google.com/settings/account/activitycontrols/search in a web browser on your phone or computer.

Tap the toggle to turn off “Web & App Activity,” then hit “Pause” on the next screen to confirm your decision.

Open the Google app on your Android phone or iPhone and tap on the three lines in the top left corner. On Android, this will open a sidebar; on iOS, it will take you to your search history.

To delete your entire search history, tap the “Clear” button at the top of the screen. You can also choose to clear your recent searches or only clear searches from a specific time period.

Scroll down and tap “Settings”

Open the Google app on your iPhone or iPad.
In the top left corner of the main screen, tap the hamburger menu icon (three horizontal lines).
Scroll down and tap “Settings.”
At the top of the Settings screen, tap “History.”
On the History screen, tap “Delete history.”

Tap “Accounts & privacy”

From the main Google app screen, tap the three vertical dots in the upper-right corner, then tap “Settings.”

In the resulting window (shown below), tap “Accounts & privacy.”

If you’re not already signed in to your Google account, follow the on-screen prompts to do so now.

Scroll down and tap “Delete your search history”

Here’s how to do it:
-Open your Google app .
-At the bottom right, tap More Settings.
-Tap History.
-Under “History Type”, check the boxes next to the types of history you want to delete. To delete all activity from today, tap the box next to All day.
-At the top right, tap Delete.
-Tap OK when asked to confirm.

Before you delete your entire search history, it’s worth noting that you can delete searches on an individual basis. To do this, perform a search as normal, then tap and hold on the entry that you want to remove from your history. A small pop-up menu will appear; tap “Delete” to remove that single search from your history.

If you want to delete your entire search history, tap the menu button in the top-right corner of the screen (the button with three vertical dots), then tap “History.” On the next screen, tap “Clear browsing data.”

You can choose to clear your entire search history, or only the search history from a certain time period. By default, Google only saves the last 90 days of your search history; if you want to delete everything, select “All time.” When you’re ready to proceed, tap “Clear data.”

Deleting your browsing history

If you’re like most people, you probably use your phone to go on the internet and do a variety of searches. And if you’re like most people, you probably don’t want anyone to know what you’ve been searching for. So, how do you delete your Google search history?

Open the Google app on your phone

To get started, open the Google app on your phone. In the top left corner of the screen, tap the hamburger icon (three horizontal lines) to open the main menu.

From the main menu, select “Your data in Search.”

On the next screen, tap “Delete your Search activity.”

You’ll see a list of options for how far back you want to delete your history. Choose from the past hour, day, week, month, or all time. Then tap “Delete.”

In the top left corner of the app, tap on the three lines. This will open up a menu.

Scroll down and tap “Settings”

On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app .
At the top right, tap More and then History.
On the “History” screen, tap More and then Clear browsing data.
At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.
Next to “Cookies and site data” and “Cached images and files,” check the boxes.
Tap Clear data.
Your history will be removed from Chrome. Separately, you can also delete your Google search history from your account.

Tap “Accounts & privacy”

At the top of your screen, tap More Accounts & privacy.If you don’t see “Accounts & privacy,” tap About phone or About tablet.

Under “Personal,” tap Accounts & privacy.

Scroll down and tap “Delete your browsing history”

To delete your browsing history, open the Google app and tap on the three lines in the top left corner. Scroll down and tap “Delete your browsing history.”

You can also delete your search history from your Google account. To do this, go to myaccount.google.com/activitycontrols and select “Web & App Activity.” Turn off “Web & App Activity” and then select “Delete Activity By.” Choose how far back you want to delete your activity and then tap “Delete.”

Here’s how to delete your Google search history on your Android phone.

Open the Google app on your Android phone.
Tap the three lines in the top-left corner of the screen to open the menu.
Tap “History.”
At the top of the screen, tap “Clear browsing data.”
From here, you can select how much data you want to delete. The options are “the past hour,” “the past day,” “the past week,” “the past 4 weeks,” and “the beginning of time.” If you want to delete everything, tap “the beginning of time.”
Tap “Clear data.”
